Gorse Farm is a small organic vegetable farm situated on the main road up to Mount Leinster. The scenery is stunning, with incredible vistas of Wexford's rural farming landscape Over the past 8 years they have demonstrated that food production can be harmonious with nature, as well as providing a means to make a living.
They began with a green field site and each year they have added a multitude of hedgerows to provide habitat and shelter.
During the walk they will share with you the story of how the site has developed, describing their hedgerow management, soil management, growing methods and discuss the positive changes they have observed over the years. Everyone will have a cup of tea and a light bite after the walk.
